Durham Report: FBI, DOJ Had No Evidence Of Trump ‘Russian Collusion’

John Durham
  • In a highly anticipated report released on Monday, special counsel John Durham concluded that the FBI had no justifiable grounds to initiate an investigation into allegations of collusion between former President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and Russia.
  • Durham, the former US Attorney for Connecticut appointed by then-Attorney General Bill Barr in the spring of 2019 to examine the probe that significantly impacted the Trump administration, revealed that the investigators launched the controversial investigation, known as “Operation Crossfire Hurricane,” in the summer of 2016 without any substantial evidence of collusion at their disposal.
  • As the months progressed and the investigation intensified under the direction of former FBI Director Robert Mueller, Durham’s findings indicated that the investigators disregarded exculpatory evidence, placed reliance on information provided by Trump’s political adversaries, and conducted surveillance without genuine belief in the existence of probable cause.
