A judge has granted Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert a temporary restraining order against her ex-husband after accusing him of threatening to harm her and entering the family’s home without permission.
The judge issued the temporary order Friday, and a hearing Thursday could result in it becoming permanent and include protections for the couple’s three younger sons.
She reportedly cited in her request for a restraining order on husband Jayson Boebert their Jan. 6 argument in a restaurant where he claimed she had hit him.
He claim eventually proved to be unfounded and his uncooperativeness with police who responded to the restaurant, led to charges of disorderly conduct, third-degree criminal trespass and obstructing a peace officer, according to court documents.
Boebert also alleges his wife is using the restraining order as reason to leave a congressional district in which she knows she’ll lose reelection.
