- Just days after authorities said they had identified a person of interest in the suspect arson fire that closed Freeway 10 through Los Angeles for roughly a week, they said this weekend the major thoroughfare will reopen Monday.
- CalFire officials Saturday released images showing the unidentified person for whom they are looking: a black-haired man in his 30s who is around 6-feet tall and weighs 170 to 190 pounds. He has black hair.
- On Sunday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced the freeway, so badly damaged that officials had thought it would need to be demolished, will instead reopen by Monday.
