Migrant Ship Crashes Off Italy Coast, At Least 59 Killed

The shipwreck occurred Sunday at the seaside resort Steccato di Cutro, and 12 children are among the dead.

  • The migrants were reportedly in a wooden sailboat coming from Turkey, and the shipwreck occurred when their vessel crashed against rocks , authorities said.
  • Emergency services searched the sea and the coastline in stormy weather,
  • About 140 to 150 were on board, and include people from Afghanistan, Iran and several other countries
