Police Identify Suspect In Fatal Shooting Of California Store Owner Over Pride Flag

  • Police on Monday identified the man whom they say fatally shot a California store owner over a Pride flag she had displayed at her clothing store.
  • Travis Ikeguchi, 27, was responsible for shooting and killing  66-year-old Laura Ann Carleton after “yelling many homophobic slurs” about her clothing store’s Pride flag on Friday, said San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus.
  • Deputies killed Ikeguchi in a “lethal force encounter” with him after he fled the store, in Lake Arrowhead, California.
  • Ikeguchi, a Cedar Glen, California, resident, reportedly had  had a history of making social media posts that were critical of the LGBTQ community
