A Tesla engineer was viciously attacked by a robot during a malfunction at the company’s Giga Texas factory near Austin, according to a 2021 injury report filed to Travis county and federal regulators and reviewed by DailyMail.com. The report detailed how the machine, designed to grab and move freshly cast aluminum car parts, pinned the man down, sinking its metal claws into his back and arm. The scene was witnessed by two fellow employees, who watched in horror as the robot attacked their colleague.

The victim suffered an open wound on his left hand, leaving a trail of blood along the factory surface. He had been programming software for two disabled Tesla robots nearby when the incident occurred.
