Artificial intelligence (AI) has made significant strides in 2023, leading many experts to predict an even more eventful 2024. However, despite the increased development and availability of AI tools, Christopher Alexander, the chief analytics officer of Pioneer Development Group, believes we are still years away from AI being as autonomous as it is perceived in the public’s imagination.

“I think that in 2024, AI will move a little closer to what is in the public imagination, but we remain years from AI being autonomous in the way people are imagining it,” Alexander told Fox News Digital.

In 2023, popular language learning model (LLM) platforms, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, gained massive popularity, and it energized other tech giants to invest heavily in AI. Microsoft was among the first companies to show interest by investing in OpenAI and launching its chatbot for use on its Bing search platform and another AI bot compatible with Windows 11. Google, Amazon, and Meta have followed suit with their AI initiatives, triggering a new arms race among tech giants.

According to Samuel Mangold-Lenett, a staff editor at The Federalist, the increasing availability of AI technology could have a massive impact on the startup industry. “In 2024, I expect the momentum we saw from this past year only to increase,” Mangold-Lenet told Fox News Digital. “Corporations have found solid footing, startups are learning how to customize it to fill various niches, and the public has realized that in some critical ways AI technology is a net positive.”

In 2024, the demand for AI experts and professionals is expected to increase exponentially as more companies look to integrate AI into their operations. Furthermore, there will be an increasing demand for AI-powered solutions that can address specific problems and improve daily life.

Despite the hope and possibility that AI presents, there are also concerns about its use and the legal frameworks that should be in place to regulate its implementation. In conclusion, while we can expect significant advancements in AI in 2024, we must also approach it with caution to ensure that it is beneficial to society as a whole.
