  • New York Governor Kathy Hochul has allocated $1 million in public funds to support health care services for sex workers over a two-year period. The funds will be distributed to two organizations, Callen-Lorde and EHS Inc./Evergreen Health, with each receiving $250,000 for the duration of the program.
  • As reported by the New York Post, the state Department of Health initiated this public funding, aiming to offer primary health care, sexual and behavioral health care, and dental care to sex workers in New York City and Western New York.
  • The program, known as the “sex worker health pilot program,” was implemented without the formal approval of the state legislature.
